Coucou, je suis déjà de retour pour vous dire que la ville se prépare pour les fêtes de fin d'année. En effet, un parc d'attraction s'installe près du musée (à 2 minutes à pieds de l'Université) ainsi qu'une patinoire extérieure. Les décorations de Noël embellissent la ville, et le marché de Noël est déjà installé au centre ville.

Hi, I am back again to tell you that the city is preparing for the end of the year. A luna park is being installed near of the Museum (at about 2 minutes by feet from the University), and an exterior ice rink. Christmas lights are illuminating the city, and the Christmas market is already placed in the city centre.

Et oui, désolé, mais j'ai un peu délaissé le blog pour d'autres occupations (pas forcément toujours intéressantes d'ailleurs, mais passons...).
La bonne nouvelle, c'est justement qu'il y a plein de nouvelles, à commencer par les 2 nouvelles collocatrices. Les 2 sont sympas, anglaises, et ce qui pourra en surprendre quelques-uns, pas moches du tout. La maison aussi a subi pas mal de changements: un jardinier a arrangé le jardin qui ressemblait à une vilaine jungle, la moquette de la salle de bains a été enlvée, on a une nouvelle table et de nouvelles chaises, et j'ai même été chez le coiffeur, chose que je n'avais pas fait depuis des années! Je bosse également dans un nouveau bureau.

Yeah, sorry, but I forgot the blog because I was a lot busy (not only for interesting things, anyway...).
Good new: there are a lot of news! First of all, I have 2 new female flatmates. Both are cool, English, and not ugly (that surprised me!). The flat too changed a lot: the garden was totally fixed, now it doesn't look like a jungle anymore, we have no more carpet in the bathroom, we have a new table and chairs, and I went to the hairdresser too, thing that I haven't done for years!!!! And I work in a new office.

Heure de jouer au foot! - Time to play football!

Ca faisait un moment que je ne donnais pas de nouvelles... Donc du coup, j'en ai quelques unes de sympa. La semaine dernière s'est bien passée, un peu moins chargée niveau boulot, avec lundi un repas de midi partagé avec John (un chirurgen renommé et boss de mon tuteur), Hechmi (mon tuteur), Cedric et un autre gars qui est en partenariat avec John. Le repas était cool, sur la terrasse d'un bar et avec un temps magnifique.

Puis, la fin de semaine est arrivée. Vendredi soir, après le boulot, nous sommes allés avec Cedric boire un verre dans un pub, avant d'apprendre que Vanessa (la colloc de Cedric) n'allait pas tarder à venir nous rejoindre en ville. Nous sommes donc partis l'attendre chez moi, pendant l'apéro. Puis, lorsqu'elle est arrivée, nous sommes sortis au Revolution, un pub branché du centre de Cardiff. Nous sommes rentrés après une bonne soirée à 2h.

Samedi matin, premier entrainement de foot!!!! Ca a été dur après une courte nuit, mais ça a fait du bien. Par contre, le nombre de joueurs était impressionnant!!! Environ 130 gars (pour 5 équipes). J'ai d'ailleurs pris ma première semelle, ça pique un peu... Puis, le soir, Cedric est passé me chercher pour aller diner chez Hechmi et sa femme, Nathalie. C'était bien sympa, j'ai pu rencontrer leurs enfant, Joris, 5 ans, et Noah, 7 mois. Puis, nous sommes ressortis au Revolution avec Cedric et Vanessa, ainsi qu'une amie à elle, mais étant crevé, je suis rentré assez tot.

Et pour finir ce week end de folie, le dimanche soir, je suis allé assister au match de hockey sur glace opposant Cardiff à Coventry, toujours avec Cedric et Vanessa, mais également avec Nathalie et les enfants. C'est impressionnant les coups que peuvent se mettre les joueurs sur le terrain, mais le plus impressionnant est la vitesse à laquelle une bagarre peut éclater! On voit les gants et les casques s'envoler et les gars commencer à se cogner en moins d'une seconde! Puis j'ai passé la fin de soirée avec mes collocs.

Puis, pour finir, lundi soir, après le boulot, deuxième entrainement de foot. Cette fois-ci, il pleuvait, le nombre de joueurs a chuté de moitié!!! L'entrainement était physique, puis on a eu droit à 3 match sur les terrains à 7, ça a fait plaisir. Maintenant, place aux courbatures!!!

I didn't give any new for quite a long time, so I have some now. Last week was nice, with a wonderful weather and not as much work as the last one. On monday, we had lunch with John (a famous surgeon and the bos of my tutor), Hechmi (my tutor), Cedric, and a partner of John. The meal was nice, outside of a bar under the sun.

Then, the week end has arrived. After working, on friday, I went with Cedric to a pub to drink a beer. And his flatmate, Vanessa, phoned him to say that she was coming to Cardiff. So, we went to take the aperitive in my appartment, and when Vanessa arrived, we went to a nice pub called Revolution until 2.00. It was a nice night.

On saturday morning, first football trial!!! It was hard after such a short night and so many drinks, but I enjoyed it. It was impressive, we were 130 football players (for 5 teams). I also got the first hit in my foot finger, it hurts a bit... Then, in the evening, I went with Cedric to Hechmi's house to have dinner with his wife, Nathalie. I also meet their 2 children, Joris, 5 years old, and Noah, 7 months old. Then, we went again to the Revolution with Cedric and Vanessa, and a friend of her, but I didn't stay a lot because I was tired.

And, to finish the week end, I went with Cedric, Vanessa, Nathalie and the children to a ice hockey match. Cardiff was playing against Coventry. It was impressive because of the violence of the game and the speed of fights to begin! In on second, you can see 2 guys taking of gloves, cask and begin to punch! And then, I spent the evening with my flatmates.

To finish, on monday, after working, it was the second football trial. As it was raining, we were less numerous than the first time (just the half!). It was physical training, and after, we played 3 matches in 7 against 7., it was great! Now, it's time to feel pain in the legs!!!!

Coucou! Cette fois, pas de blague: y a des photos! Et plein de trucs à raconter aussi. Bien que la semaine ait été pas mal axée boulot, j'ai eu l'occasion de voir pas mal de choses. Premier truc drôle, en milieu de semaine, j'ai croisé un couple habillé en rois mages blancs....mesurant 3m. Il essayaient de rentrer dans un pub, mais le videur ne semblait pas fan des gens en échasses.... Ce même soir, je me suis aperçu que l'on peut trouver les premiers vomis d'ivrognes avant 20h en ville (en milieu de semaine, je le rappelle).

Vendredi soir, pour récompenser une semaine de bon boulot, Hechmi, Cédric et moi sommes allés dans un pub en ville après le boulot. Puis, quand Hechmi, mon tuteur, a dû partir, nous sommes allés avec Cédric au O'neils boire un Pernod avant de rentrer chez soi.

Samedi, la matinée a été foot et jardinage, puis balade en ville, avant de sortir dans un pub avec Athena, puis rejoindre Cédric et sa colloc', Vanessa, dans une boite appelée Oceana. L'ambiance était sympa, il y a pas mal de salles et de styles, et on a bien rigolé avec l'appareil photo et les gens presents. En voici un aperçu (les squelettes sont justes des collègues de l'université):

Hi guys! No time for jokes: there are photos today! And things to say too. Although there was a lot of work this week, I could see a lot of things! First of all, during the week, while I was coming back home, I saw a couple dresses like white "mage kings".... 3m tall!!! They were trying to enter a pub, but the guy in the entrance didn't seem like to appreciate people taller than him... This same evening, I could see that the first people vomiting in the streets do it before 20.00 (I say it again, but it was in the middle of the week).

On friday, to reward a hard week of work, Hechmi, Cedric and I went to a pub after working. And, when Hechmi, my tutor, left, Cedric and I went to the O'neils to drink Pernod before coming back home.

On saturday, I was playing football and gardening in the morning, then, I went to the city center, and in the evening, I went to a pub with Athena, just before going to see Cedric and Vanessa, his flatmate, to a nightclub called Oceana. The ambient was nice, there were a lot of rooms, and we had a lot of fun with the photo machine and people there. Judge by yourself with the photos (the skulls are friends of the Uni).

Occupé! - Busy!

C'est de la folie! Je n'ai plus une seconde à moi cette semaine, il faut que je finisse le boulot entamé par mes prédecesseurs aujourd'hui! Mais ça devrait le faire.
Sinon, niveau week end, le précédent était bien sympa: footing dans le parc le samedi matin, shopping l'après midi et sortie le soir en centre ville. J'ai pu voir de mes yeux la déchéance décrite par mes prédecesseurs: des gens saouls partout, qui font du bruit, et plein de filles de toutes masses corporelles peu vétues et parfois même déguisées! C'était bien drole... Le dimanche, repos.

It's crazy! I don't have free time this week, I have to finish the work begun by the previews guys today! But I will do it.
Except of this, this week end was very nice:jogging on saturday morning in the park, shopping in the afternoon and pubs in the city center at night. And I could really see what people told about alcohol in UK: people drunk everywhere, making noise, and a lot of girls of every weights possible with few clothes, and sometimes weared like in "carnaval"! It was funny... And on sunday, I took a rest.

Premiere semaine - First week

Ca y est, ma première semaine dans la colloc vient de se finir, et tout va bien. Bien que le boulot à l'Université n'ait pas été des plus intéressants, le reste était amusant: je suis sorti vendredi soir avec Katie et Athena, mes 2 collocs, et j'ai aimé l'ambiance. Concert de Jazz, gens contents de sortir et pas aussi moches que ce que l'on m'avait dit, j'ai apprécié. Puis, j'ai couru une heure dans le parc le lendemain et fait un tour en ville. Je suis même allé dans le marché du dimanche près de chez moi acheter des produits locaux!

Now, my first week in my appartment is over, and all is ok. Although the work in University is not so interesting, all the other things were funny: on friday, I went to pubs with Katie and Athena, my 2 flatmates, and I liked a lot the ambient. Jazz concert, people happy to be outside but not totally drunk, as people told me, I really appreciated. Then, I went to run for an hour in the park on saturday, and did a walk in the city center. I also went to the open market near of the house to buy local products!

Appart, me voila! - I'm coming, my room!

Ca y est, c'est le début du bonheur!!!! J'ai mon appart'. Et mon premier jour à l'Université était bien sympa: mon tuteur, Hechmi, parle français et est jeune. Il m'a montré mon bureau (voir photo), l'université et on a bouffé ensemble. J'ai aussi appris que je bosserai au dessus d'une morgue contenant 200 cadavres pendant ces 5 mois, c'est sympa... Sinon, j'ai eu droit à un bel orage pour le jour de mon amménagement: ça mouille.

Happiness is here!!!! I have my own room. And my first day in the university was very nice: my tutor, Hechmi, speaks french and is young. He showed me my office (see the photo), the University, and we ate together. He told me too that I will be working in a floor just in the top of a mortuary where are 200 corpses, it is cool... Except of this, it was raining for my moving to the appartment, it made me totally wet.

Ben oui, je me suis mis au fast food, ça craint! Vivement que j'aie un appart' avec cuisine. Heureusement que je marche dans le parc pour éliminer!

Yeah, I now use to eat fast food, bad for me! I hope to find an appartment with a kitchen very soon... Fortunately, I often go to walk in the park to digest this kind of meal!

Vous le croirez ou non, j'ai eu droit au soleill toute la journée dés mon 4ème jour à Cardiff! Du coup, j'en ai profité pour me balader. Je suis allé au "fair play" festival, une fête qui dure tout le week end et où Owen, un gars qui bosse à l'auberge de jeunesse, mixait. Il y avait également des démos de tags, et même la grand mère du chaperon rouge! Puis j'ai visité à nouveau l'appart afin de rencontrer les autres collocs, le courant est passé. Il n'y a plus qu'à attendre le feu vert de la proprio. Bref, ce fut une belle journée.

Maybe you will not believe me, but it was sunny all day long here for my 4th day in Cardiff! So, I enjoyed outside. I went to the "fair play" festival, a all week end long party where Owen, a guy working in the hostel, was mixing music. There was to a contest of graffitis, and the grandma of the red hat girl too! After that, I went again to visit the appartment with a view to meet the other flatmates, and all went ok. I am waiting for the answer of the owner. So, it was a very nice day!

3ème soirée à l'auberge - Third night in the hostel

Bon, ben c'est fait, j'ai bu au pays de Galles. Après une journée de recherches intensives de logement, et peut etre un succès grace à Andrea, un italien que j'ai rencontré dans l'auberge et qui m'a fait visiter l'appart d'une de ses amies, je me suis permis une soirée dans l'auberge. Merci à Tom, Kyo (même si ça s'écrit pas comme ça) et Jeff, qui m'ont offert quelques verres. Et merci aux 2 australiens et à leur ami anglais qui m'ont fait jouer au jeu du "d'où je viens" où j'ai autant perdu qu'eux.... Sinon, la colloc proposée est avec une greco-australienne (Athena), un français, et une surprise. Nouvelle visite demain!

Finally, I got drunk in Wales... After one entire day searching for accomodation, and maybe a success thanks to Andrea, an italian guy I meet in the hostel, and who made me visit the appartment of one of his friends, I allowed myself to do a party in the bar of the hostel. And I thank Tom, Jeff and Kyo (also if I know that it isn't written this way....), who offered me some glasses of alcohol. And thank you to 2 australian guys and one of their friends, who made me play the "where do I come from" game, where I lost as many times as them.... Except of that, the appartment I could go to is with a half Greek-half Australian girl (Athena), a french guy and another girl. I will go to see them tomorrow!

L'arrivée - The arrival

Je suis arrivé à Cardiff en train. Premier choc, j'ai vu un tas de rabins en uniforme traditionnel, chose que je n'avais jamais vu auparavant! Puis, avant mon arrivée, j'ai appris qu'il y avait une heure de décallage horaire avec la France (j'ai eu peur, j'ai cru louper ma correspondance). Et je suis enfin arrivé à Cardiff. J'ai trouvé facilement l'auberge de jeunesse que j'avais réservé en avance, et c'est sympa. J'ai rencontré un chinois, 3 français et 3 anglais bien sympas. J'ai également eu l'occasion de faire un tour dans Cardiff pour chercher un logement. Voici mes premières photos (auberge, chambre, monnaie, université, rue, cadeau pour Tak):

I arrived in Cardiff by train. First surprise, I saw a lot of jews with traditionnal clothes, thing that I never saw before (except in some movies)! Then, just before my arrival, I learnt that there was a difference of one hour with France there (I was afraid, I thought that I would lost the 3rd train!). And finally, I arrived in Cardiff. I found easily the hostel I booked online, and it is great. I meet a chinese, 3 french and 3 english people. I had the opportunity to see the city too while I was searching for accomodation.
